Surely We created man of a clay of mud moulded, 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 Said he, 'I would never bow myself before a mortal whom Thou hast created of a clay of mud moulded.' 33 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 unto the day of a known time.' 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 40 [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
