By the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning for people -- 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
