Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. 27 And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 Answered He: "Verily, so be it: thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
