So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 and we are bringing thee the certainty [of its fulfilment]: for, behold, we are speaking the truth indeed. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We informed him the decision of this command, that at morning the root of the disbelievers would be cut off. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 rushed towards the house of Lot. Lot said to them, "These are my guests. Do not disgrace me. 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
