And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
