The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 About what they used to do. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
