Do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We will give sustenance to all of you. To kill them is certainly a great sin. 31 Do not commit adultery, for it is an indecent thing and an evil course. 32 And slay not the life which Allah hath forbidden save with right. Whoso is slain wrongfully, We have given power unto his heir, but let him not commit excess in slaying. Lo! he will be helped. 33 Come not nigh to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full strength; and fulfil (every) engagement, for (every) engagement will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). 34 And correctly measure when you measure, and weigh correctly with the scales; this is better, and has a better outcome. 35 Do not follow what you do not know. The hearing, sight and heart about all these you shall be questioned. 36 And do not walk haughtily on the earth; you can never split the earth, nor be as high as the hills. 37 All that is evil in the sight of your Lord, and is detestable. 38 That is part of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you. So do not set up any deity beside Allah lest you are cast into Hell, rebuked and deprived of every good. 39 What! has then your Lord preferred to give you sons, and (for Himself) taken daughters from among the angels? Most surely you utter a grievous saying. 40
