(Remember) the day when We will call every people with their Imam; then whoever is given his book in his right hand, these shall read their book; and they shall not be dealt with a whit unjustly. 71 But those who were blind in this world, will be blind in the hereafter, and most astray from the Path. 72 And their purpose was to tempt thee away from that which We had revealed unto thee, to substitute in our name something quite different; (in that case), behold! they would certainly have made thee (their) friend! 73 Indeed, had We not strengthened you, you might have inclined to them a little, 74 And if it were*, We would then have made you taste a double life and a double death – you would then not find any supporter against Us. (* Which is impossible.) 75 And indeed, they were about to drive you from the land to evict you therefrom. And then [when they do], they will not remain [there] after you, except for a little. 76 This was Our dispensation with those whom We sent before thee of Our apostles, and thou wilt not find in this Our dispensation a change. 77
