No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 Warn the men. 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 about the sinners. 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
