T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha.* (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah and to whomever He reveals know their precise meanings.) 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens 4 The Most Compassionate Lord is settled on the Throne (of the Universe). 5 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah! no God there is but he! His are the names excellent. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 "I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee). 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 He said, “This is my staff; I support myself on it, and I knock down leaves for my sheep with it, and there are other uses for me in it.” 18 He said: 'Moses, cast it down' 19 So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. 20 Said He: "Take hold of it, and fear not: We shall restore it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 so that We might make thee aware of some of Our greatest wonders. 23 Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed." 24
