Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 and ease my task for me, 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 so that they might fully understand my speech, 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 And let him share my task 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 God said, "You have been granted your request, Moses." 36 It is the second time that We have bestowed upon you Our favor. 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 They replied, "Our Lord is the One Who has created all things and has given guidance". 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 (Saying): Eat ye and feed your cattle. Lo! herein verily are portents for men of thought. 54
