T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Ha. 1 We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed 2 But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] - 3 a revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire, and said to his family, 'Tarry you here; I observe a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a brand from it, or I shall find at the fire guidance.' 10 When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses! 11 Verily, I am thy Sustainer! Take off, then, thy sandals! Behold, thou art in the twice hallowed valley, 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 The Hour of Resurrection is coming. I have willed to keep the time of its coming hidden so that everyone may be recompensed in accordance with his effort. 15 Do not let anyone who does not believe in it and follows his own desires turn you away from it and so bring you to ruin." 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 Moses answered: "This is my staff. I lean on it (when I walk), and with it I beat down leaves for my flock, and I have many other uses for it." 18 The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". 19 He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 "Now place thy hand within thy armpit: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish, as another sign [of Our grace,] 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." 24
