T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to you that you should be burdened, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 it is a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens, 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and all that is in between, and all that is beneath the soil. 6 Whether you say a thing aloud or inaudibly, He has knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. 8 And has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 9 When he saw fire, he said to his family: Stop, for surely I see a fire, haply I may bring to you therefrom a live coal or find a guidance at the fire. 10 When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 "And I have chosen you. So listen to that which is inspired to you. 13 Verily I am God; there is no god but I; therefore serve Me, and perform the prayer of My remembrance. 14 Verily the Hour is coming - I wish to conceal it - in order that every one may be requited according to that which he hath endeavoured. 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, and with it, I beat down the leaves for my flock; I also have other uses for it." 18 God said, "Moses, cast it down." 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
