T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah). 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. 6 If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 Has the story of Moses come to you? 9 When he saw the fire, he said to his family, "Wait here for I can see a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a burning torch or find a way to some fire". 10 When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, 11 Verily, I am thy Sustainer! Take off, then, thy sandals! Behold, thou art in the twice hallowed valley, 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. 13 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. 14 Although it is certain that the Day of Judgment will come, I prefer to keep it almost a secret so that every soul will receive the recompense for what it has done (on its own). 15 So do not let those who do not believe in it and follow their vain desires, turn you away from it. 16 "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" 17 Moses answered: "This is my staff. I lean on it (when I walk), and with it I beat down leaves for my flock, and I have many other uses for it." 18 Allah said: cast it down, O Musa! 19 So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. 20 Said He: "Take hold of it, and fear not: We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token. 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent.' 24
