T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to you that you should be burdened, 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 a revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The ever-merciful, established on the throne (of authority). 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 Has the story of Moses come to you? 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired. 13 Verily I am Allah. There is no god beside Me. So serve Me and establish Prayers to remember Me. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, and with it, I beat down the leaves for my flock; I also have other uses for it." 18 He said: "Moses, throw it down." 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 And draw in your hand to your side; it will come out white without disease - another sign, 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent.' 24
