Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 And loose a knot from my tongue, 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen me through him, 31 and let him share my task, 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 God said, "You have been granted your request, Moses." 36 Indeed, We showed Our favour to you before also, 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 Answered He: "Fear not! Verily, I shall be with you two, hearing and seeing [all]. 46 So go to him and say: 'The two of us have indeed been sent by your Lord. So let the children of Israel come with us, and do not oppress them. We have come to you with a token from your Lord. Peace on him who follows the way of guidance. 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
