He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 And ease for me my task 26 And loose a knot from my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 By him confirm my strength 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 "And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)".. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go, both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds. 43 But speak gently to him; perhaps he may yet take heed or even feel afraid." 44 They said, "Lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us". 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 Pharaoh said, 'Who is your Lord, Moses?' 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 (The Pharaoh) said: "And what about the former generations?" 51 (Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
