ARE, THEN, they who are bent on denying the truth not aware that the heavens and the earth were [once] one single entity, which We then parted asunder? and [that] We made out of water every living thing? Will they not, then, [begin to] believe? 30 And We have made great mountains in the earth lest it might be convulsed with them, and We have made in it wide ways that they may follow a right direction. 31 and We made the sky a secure canopy; and yet they turn away from these Signs. 32 And it is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each one floats in an orbit. 33 AND [remind those who deny thee, O Prophet, that] never have We granted life everlasting to any mortal before thee: but do they, perchance, hope that although thou must die, they will live forever?" 34 Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned. 35 When the unbelievers see you, they take you only for mockery, saying: 'Is this he who talks about your gods' While they are unbelievers in the Remembrance of the Merciful. 36 The human was created of haste. Indeed, I will show you My signs; so do not ask Me to hasten them. 37 They say: 'If you are truthful, when will this promise come' 38 If only those who disbelieve have known of the time when they shall not be able to ward off from their faces the Fire nor from their backs, nor shall they be succoured! 39 Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved. 40 Other Messengers before you were also mocked, but those who scoffed at the Messengers were overtaken by the same scourge that they had scoffed at. 41
