And Nuh, when he cried aforetime, so We answered him, and delivered him and his followers from the great calamity. 76 And delivered him from the people who denied Our revelations. Lo! they were folk of evil, therefor did We drown them all. 77 We bestowed the same favour upon David and Solomon. Recall, when they gave judgement regarding a tillage into which the sheep of some people had strayed at night, and We were witnesses to their judgement. 78 We made Solomon to understand it, and to both We gave judgment and knowledge. And with David We subjected the mountains and birds to exalt (Allah). All this We have done. 79 And We taught him the fashioning of garments for you, to fortify you against your violence; then are you thankful? 80 And unto Solomon [We made subservient] the stormy wind, so that it sped at his behest towards the land which We had blessed: for it is We who have knowledge of everything. 81 and of the Satans some dived for him and did other work besides; and We were watching over them. 82 ۞ And Ayub, when he cried to his Lord, (saying): Harm has afflicted me, and Thou art the most Merciful of the merciful. 83 Therefore We responded to him and took off what harm he had, and We gave him his family and the like of them with them: a mercy from Us and a reminder to the worshippers. 84 And (mention) Ishmael, and Idris, and Dhu'l-Kifl. All were of the steadfast. 85 And We admitted them to Our Mercy. Verily, they were of the righteous. 86 And (remember) Dhu'n-Noon (Jonah of the fish), when he went away in anger and imagined We will not test him (with distress). Then he called out from the darkness: "There is no god other than You. All glory to You; surely I was a sinner. 87 So We listened to him: and delivered him from distress: and thus do We deliver those who have faith. 88 And Zachariah, when he cried unto his Lord: My Lord! Leave me not childless, though Thou art the Best of inheritors. 89 So We responded to him and gave him Yahya and made his wife fit for him; surely they used to hasten, one with another In deeds of goodness and to call upon Us, hoping and fearing and they were humble before Us. 90 And she (Mary) who guarded her virginity. We breathed into her of Our spirit (Gabriel), and made her and her son a sign for the worlds. 91 Indeed, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am Your Lord, therefore worship Me. 92 And they cut up their affair among them; all are unto Us returners. 93
