And (remember) Noah, when he supplicated to Us, We answered him, and We saved him and his nation from great distress, 76 And We helped him against the people who denied Our signs; indeed they were evil people, We therefore drowned them all. 77 And remember David and Solomon, when they gave judgment in the matter of the field into which the sheep of certain people had strayed by night: We did witness their judgment. 78 To Solomon We inspired the (right) understanding of the matter: to each (of them) We gave Judgment and Knowledge; it was Our power that made the hills and the birds celebrate Our praises, with David: it was We Who did (all these things). 79 It was We Who taught him the making of coats of mail for your benefit, to guard you from each other's violence: will ye then be grateful? 80 And to Solomon the wind, strongly blowing, that ran at his command unto the land that We had blessed; and We had knowledge of everything; 81 And of the satans were some who dove for him, and worked a work beside that; and of them We were the Watchers. 82 ۞ (Remember) Job when he called to his Lord: "I am afflicted with distress, and You are the most compassionate of all." 83 So We answered him and We removed that which was with him of the hurt, and We vouchsafed unto him his household and the like thereof along with them, as a mercy from Us and a remembrance unto the worshippers. 84 And (remember) Isma'il, Idris, and Zul-kifl, all (men) of constancy and patience; 85 We admitted them to Our Mercy, for they were of the righteous. 86 And Dhul Nun -- when he went forth enraged and thought that We would have no power over him; then he called out in the darkness, 'There is no god but Thou. Glory be to Thee! I have done evil.' 87 We answered his prayer and saved him from his grief. Thus We save the faithful ones. 88 And remember Zakaria, when he prayed to his Lord, “O my Lord – do not leave me alone, and You are the Best Inheritor. 89 So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive. 90 Remember the one who guarded her chastity; so We breathed Our Spirit into her, and made her and her son a sign for all people. 91 Indeed, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am Your Lord, therefore worship Me. 92 But they split up the order among themselves; (yet) all of them have to come back to Me. 93
