Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O mankind! fear your Lord! for the convulsion of the Hour (of Judgment) will be a thing terrible! 1 On that Day you will see every one that suckles shall forsake her suckling, and every carrier shall miscarry, and you shall see mankind drunk although they are not drunk; dreadful will be the punishment of Allah. 2 And yet there are men who contend about God without understanding, and follow every wayward devil 3 Against whom it is prescribed, that: whosoever befriendeth him, him he shall lead astray and shall guide him on to the torment of the Flame. 4 O people! if you are in doubt about the raising, then surely We created you from dust, then from a small seed, then from a clot, then from a lump of flesh, complete in make and incomplete, that We may make clear to you; and We cause what We please to stay in the wombs till an appointed time, then We bring you forth as babies, then that you may attain your maturity; and of you is he who is caused to die, and of you is he who is brought back to the worst part of life, so that after having knowledge he does not know anything; and you see the earth sterile land, but when We send down on it the water, it stirs and swells and brings forth of every kind a beautiful herbage. 5 That is because God -- He is the Truth, and brings the dead to life, and is powerful over everything, 6 There is no doubt about the coming of the Hour of Doom and that God will raise every one from their graves. 7 Some people argue about God without knowledge, guidance, and an enlightening Book. 8 They wrangle arrogantly, intent on leading people astray from the Way of Allah. Such shall suffer disgrace in this world and We shall cause them to taste the chastisement of burning (in the Next). 9 (They will be told), "This is the result of what your hands have wrought. God is certainly not unjust to His servants." 10
