The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 who guard their privates, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 They are the inheritors. 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
