The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 and guard their private parts 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
