It is He Who has endowed you with the faculties of hearing and sight and has given you hearts (to think). Scarcely do you give thanks. 78 And it is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered. 79 It is He who gives you life and death, and His the alternation of night and day. Even then you do not understand, 80 Nay, but they say the like of what their predecessors of yore had said. 81 They say: "What! when we die and become dust and bones, could we really be raised up again? 82 We and our fathers have been promised this before; this is naught but the fairy-tales of the ancients.' 83 Ask them: "Whose is the earth and those who are in it? Tell us if you know" 84 They will say: "To God." Say: "Then why do you not bethink yourselves?" 85 Say thou: who is Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the mighty throne? 86 They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: Will you not then guard (against evil)? 87 Say "In Whose Hand is the sovereignty of everything (i.e. treasures of each and everything)? And He protects (all), while against Whom there is no protector, (i.e. if Allah saves anyone none can punish or harm him, and if Allah punishes or harms anyone none can save him), if you know." [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 12, Page 145] 88 They will surely say: God's. Say thou: how then are ye turned away? 89 Aye! We have brought them the truth and verily they are the liars. 90 Never did Allah take to Himself a son, and never was there with him any (other) god-- in that case would each god have certainly taken away what he created, and some of them would certainly have overpowered others; glory be to Allah above what they describe! 91 (He is) the Knower of the Unseen and the Seen, High Exalted be He above that they associate. 92
