(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
