And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 "They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation." 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 "And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity." 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 "Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?" 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
