And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
