Ad gave the lie to the apostles. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 fear God, then, and obey me. 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know, 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 gardens and fountains. 134 “Indeed I fear upon you the punishment of a Great Day.” 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 This [religion of ours] is none other than that to which our forebears clung, 137 and we shall not be chastised.' 138 And they belied him; so We destroyed them. Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140
