The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
