[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
