Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
