1/4 Hizb 38
< random >
The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
