The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
