Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
