The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
