Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 Till a limit known? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
