The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
