The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
