The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
