The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
