And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 They will therefore say, "Will we get some respite?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
