And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
