This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, – 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
