And those who disbelieve say: when we have become dust, we and our fathers, shall we, for sooth, be brought forth? 67 “Indeed this promise was given to us, and before us to our forefathers – this is nothing but stories of former people.” 68 Say: 'Journey in the land and see what was the end of the sinners' 69 Do not sorrow for them, nor be thou straitened for what they devise. 70 They say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak the truth?' 71 Say: "The chastisement whose hastening you have been asking for, maybe a part of it has drawn quite near to you." 72 Surely, your Lord is bountiful to the people; yet most of them do not give thanks. 73 Lo! thy Lord knoweth surely all that their bosoms hide, and all that they proclaim. 74 And there is nothing hidden in the heaven and the earth, but is in a Clear Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 75 Surely, this Koran relates to the Children of Israel most of that which they are at variance. 76 And it certainly is a Guide and a Mercy to those who believe. 77 Surely your Lord will judge between them by his judgment, and He is the Mighty, the knowing. 78 So put your trust in Allah for you are on the manifest truth. 79 [But,] verily, thou canst not make the dead hear: and [so, too,] thou canst not make the deaf [of heart] hear this call when they turn their backs [on thee] and go away, 80 nor can you guide the blind out of their error. You can make only those hear you who believe in Our revelations and surrender themselves to Us. 81 ۞ And when the Word falls on them, We will bring out from the earth a beast that shall speak to them: 'Indeed the people were not certain of Our verses.' 82
