The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ AlifLaamMeem. 1 Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction? 2 Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign. 3 Or those who do evil deeds think that they can outstrip Us (i.e. escape Our Punishment)? Evil is that which they judge! 4 For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things). 5 And whoever strives in Allah's cause, strives only for his own benefit; indeed Allah is Independent of the entire creation. 6 And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do. 7 We have advised the human being, "Be kind to your parents. Do not obey them if they force you to consider equal to Me things which you do not know are such." You will all return (to Me) and I shall show all that you have done. 8 And those who believe and work righteous works - We shall surely cause them to enter among the righteous. 9 Then there are among men such as say, "We believe in Allah"; but when they suffer affliction in (the cause of) Allah, they treat men's oppression as if it were the Wrath of Allah! And if help comes (to thee) from thy Lord, they are sure to say, "We have (always) been with you!" Does not Allah know best all that is in the hearts of all creation? 10 And Allah most certainly knows those who believe, and as certainly those who are Hypocrites. 11 The unbelievers say to those who believe: 'Follow our path, and we will carry your sins' Yet they cannot carry even a thing of their sins. They are surely lying. 12 They will bear their own burdens, and (other) burdens along with their own, and on the Day of Judgments they will be called to account for their falsehoods. 13
