In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 a guide and a mercy for those who do good, 3 Those who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate and of the Hereafter are convinced. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. 7 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity. 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it. 10 [All] this is God's creation: show Me, then, what others than He may have created! Nay, but the evildoers are obviously lost in error! 11
