Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
AlifLaamMeem. 1 These are verses of the wise Book. 2 A guide and a mercy for the Muhsinun (good-doers) 3 Those who establish worship and pay the poor-due and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. 5 But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance,] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. 7 For those who believe and work righteous deeds, there will be Gardens of Bliss,- 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 This is the creation of Allah; shew me that which those beside Him have created. Aye! the wrong-doers are in error manifest. 11
