Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter. 4 Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity. 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. 11
