۞ Say: 'I give you but one admonition, that you stand unto God, two by two and one by one, and then reflect: no madness is in your comrade. He is naught but a warner unto you, before a terrible chastisement.' 46 Say, "If I have asked you for any recompense, you can keep it. It is God alone who will reward me: He is the witness of all things." 47 Say: "My Lord casts the truth: He is the knower of things unknown." 48 Say: The truth has come, and the falsehood shall vanish and shall not come back. 49 Say: "If I am astray, I only stray to the loss of my own soul: but if I receive guidance, it is because of the inspiration of my Lord to me: it is He Who hears all things, and is (ever) near." 50 Couldst thou but see when they are terrified with no escape, and are seized from near at hand, 51 and will cry, "We do [now] believe in it!" But how can they [hope to] attain [to salvation] from so far away, 52 They had surely denied it before and aimed without seeing from so far away. 53 And they will be shut off from that which they will eagerly desire, as shall be done with the likes of them of yore. Verily they have been in doubt perplexing. 54
