The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 surely your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 and to preserve against every rebel Satan; 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,- 13 And when they see a sign, they ridicule 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)." 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 "(Yes,) this is the Day of Judgement you had called a lie." 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
